Caribou Nation..... OOHHHH what's up, we hope everyone had an outstanding weekend and you're gearing up for Thanksgiving. Up in Boston, Weinstein, Fischer, Joey T, Levin-Ep, and Rotman all got together and lit the city up. Good times were had as we played some football with Jerry in Wayland, got a pick-up game of basketball at Needham High School, and hung out with Lori and Jess on Friday night. Even Billy L. was on the go, as he was up at Camp giving Frankie a visit. Bill was saying that Camp looks amazing and they are definitely gearing up for the winter season. Even Martha was doing big things as she was down in New York City meeting up with family. Overall, it was a huge weekend, tons of fun, and great to see everyone.

In camper news, Jesse Clark and the Sarasota Sun Devils are now Peace River Conference Champions and recently defeated the Fort-Myers based Cypress Hornets 12-6 to advance to the Pop Warner Southeast Regional Championship, Good Luck Jesse. Zach Cohen's soccer team won the Charlotte United Cup over the weekend. The final game was 0 -0 after regulation and two overtime periods! Bill and Rotman hit New York

YOOOOOOO, what's up everyone, we hope everyone is rockin' and rollin' in this fall season. Bill and Rotman recently went down to the Big Apple and absolutely lit the city up!!! On Saturday, we were at Allen-Stevenson in the Upper East side for a camp fair, meeting loads of people interested in coming to the 'bou for the upcoming summer. While we were there Dylan, Jake and Michelle Lublin, Andrew and Lisanne Godnick, David Barber, and Charlie Zankin all popped in and said hi to us. It was awesome seeing them, and we actually went down to a park on 92 and York to get a little pick up basketball going.

It was a crazy scene, Godnick was draining buckets while in sandals, Jake was talking trash and already getting ready for Colorwar, Dylan was holding it down with his ball skillz, and Barber was just unleashing fury on anyone who came near him. It was a great game, awesome to see them.

On Sunday, we were at Rodeph Sholom in the Upper West side for another camp fair. Sam Cox, Andres Vaamonde, Harry Zolot, Sacha Heymann, and Henry Davis all came to help us out. And obviously we had to go play some more basketball, so we went to the Great Lawn in central park and got some 3 on 3 ball going. It was another great game, Sam was draining three pointers all over the place, Andres was taking the game way to seriously, (no I'm just kidding, but he is looking to be a guard for his JV team), Sacha and Harry were doing their thing and having a blast, and Henry was making some easy layups (stealthy guy). Caribou in central park, we do things right.

Then at the tail end of the camp fair, John Froelich and his dad David showed up. We were all excited to see them, awesome surprise. Overall, it was a great weekend, good to see everyone, and definitely more trips to come!!!

Just a reminder, December 5th from 2-4pm at the Meadowbrook School in Weston, MA, we will be playing some basketball so bring your friends, DON'T MISS OUT. Keep in touch everyone!!!

Boston Reunion

Caribou Nation, WOW, what an amazing Boston Reunion we just had. Things started off with a BANG at Fun & Games. Skeetball tournaments, loads of arcades, outrageous laser tag matches, and ridiculous prizes were won by many. We then shifted the Caribou Herd over to the Crowne Plaza for chicken tenders, fries, ice cream, the premier of the DVD, and handing of the yearbook and t-shirts. At the tail end of the reunion things got a little crazy as Jim Dock did his version of the Beaver song alongside Markman and Harry. Bobby, Rotman, and Lori all presented new cheers that we will definitely be doing this summer. Overall, it was a great time with over 100 people in attendance, and special appearances by John White, Weinstein, Guttag, Jim Dock, and Mamon. It was also great seeing Tim Halle and Ben Selling alumnus from the 1970's it was a great preview to our Alumni Reunion this summer.

In Caribou camper news: Devin Rosen is the captain of his soccer team with a record of 7-3, not bad, and is moving onto basketball in the coming weeks. Will Rosen is playing soccer, but also hitting the tennis courts and playing a little singles. Parker Dow is wrapping up his soccer season and soon hitting the mats as wrestling season is right around the corner. Noah Kaplan has been keeping real busy with swimming and soccer. Sam Gilman is having a lot of success on the gridiron playing guard and currently second in the league, WAY TO BE GILMAN. TK Fishman is tearing the soccer fields up with his mad defensive skills. Josh Lane is holding it down in the goal as his soccer team is 5-3-1. Jack Tallas is playing town and club soccer and is about to hit the ice real soon as hockey season is about to begin. It was awesome seeing you guys at the reunion, and you know we love the updates, keep them coming.

In Caribou Staff News: Jeff Weinstein is enjoying his new job up at Union College as the Sports Information Director. Weinstein actually just came back from Alaska covering Unions hockey team. Awesome stuff. John White is holding it down up in Maine teaching and gearing for the winter season. Amaury is down in Puerto Rico doing his thing as a fitness trainer, and getting into cooking. And Bobby just left for South Africa to meet up with loads of Caribou Peoples.

One More Note: December 5th from 2-4pm at the Meadowbrook school in Weston, MA, we will be getting some pick-up basketball going. So save the date, its going to be a blast, bring your friends from home if they want to play. We got two courts for two hours, lets play some ball.

Jake Cohen in the News

Red Team Silences Masconomet in Game 1

The Red Squad traveled to Pye Brook Field last Wednesday for a game under the lights against Masco. The Chieftains were looking to avenge an early season loss to Marblehead, but the home field advantage proved useless as the Red Team rolled over Masco 24-6.

Marblehead dominated on both sides of the ball. The offense was provided by Jake Cohen, Anthony Ruggerio and Eli Smith. Ruggerio scored in the 2nd quarter on a short run off-tackle that was set up by a strong defensive performance and a short field. Eli Smith had a great run on a busted play at the beginning of the second half that went for 60 yards, six points and a 14-0 Marblehead lead.

In the 3rd, Cohen tallied his first score of the game on a-10 yard sweep, making the score 20-0.

Masco refused to yield, and put together a nice 80-yard scoring drive of their own to make the score 20-6 early in the 4th quarter.

The Masco rally was stymied when Cohen scored his second touchdown of the day on a pick-six for which he covered 50 yards. The final score was 26-6 for MHD.

"This was probably the most complete game the Red Squad has played all season," commented Coach Bial after the game. "We got a lot of contributions from many different players. Jake Cohen had his best game of the season with big plays on both sides of the ball and Justin Consigli did a great job on defense playing both defensive tackle and defensive end. It was a great way to start the week given the tough schedule these kids have with two games this week."

The Red Team Improves to 7 – 1 with Game 2 Win

The Red Squad had little time to enjoy their victory in Topsfield. Due to a scheduling conflict that necessitated the Wednesday night game, the locals were back on the field Sunday for a match-up against the Scarlet Knights of North Andover. These two teams knew each other well, having met in the first game of the season. For the second time in as many tries, Marblehead reigned suprime by a score of 18-0.

Jake Cohen and Anthony Ruggerio were again key components of the offense. Ruggerio scored on a nice run where he refused to be tackled. Three N. Andover defenders had a chance to bring him down, but Ruggerio kept driving for the first score of the game. Eli Smith threw a perfect 35-yard spiral to a wide open Cohen for the second TD of the game, and Cohen capped off the scoring with short run for the final tally of 18-0.

The Marblehead defense proved too tough and notched their fourth shutout of the season.

"I'm so proud of these kids," commented Coach Bob Simmons. "It was a tough week with little practice time due to the schedule. Kids were banged up from Wednesday's game, but they battled through it…I also thought Tommy Seminara and Aidan Caldwell had a fantastic games."

The victory over N. Andover sets up a rematch with the Falcons of Danvers, the Red Squad's only loss on the season. The winner of Sunday's game will be the JV-A Conference Champion. The game will be played at Hopkins Field Sunday at 9:00 a.m.

Rotman, Bill, and Jigz last weekend had the honor of watching Brian Sugar and Ian Reilly play a little football against Billerica, it was tough game, but it was great to see those guys make BIG tackles and create some noise.
